You’ll Be Spoiled for Choice at Brandywine Manor House

Brilliantly laid out over 85 acres of natural beauty is the Brandywine Manor House. Dating back to the 1740s, this gem of Chester County, Pennsylvania, is only a short drive from Philadelphia and Lancaster. With four ceremony sites and two key reception choices, it’s easy to see why the Brandywine Manor House is a premier Chester County wedding venue.

Over the wooden footbridge and surrounded by towering oak trees, there’s a hip and rustic vibe to ceremonies hosted in The Oak Grove, stoic and strong among the meadow.

Surrounded by fragrant roses and enveloped in trees, under the bluest of skies, couples can choose between hosting their ceremony at the gazebo or facing the natural pergola in the Garden Terrace. It’s also a trendy spot for hosting your cocktail hour. I love using the beauty of the pergola as a backdrop for romantic photos of my couple, shooting through the hanging greens, it feels intimate and calm.

Walking across the footbridge while the sun provides a gorgeous backlight to the veil and dress as the bride approaches the aisle is one of the more picturesque moments created when you have your ceremony at Lakeview. The pergola at the top of the aisle is set against blue skies that are interrupted only by a bank of tall, green trees. The rolling lawn races up to the illuminated lake creating a fantastic background for beautiful bridal party portraiture.

Nestled under a canopy of majestic trees, the Glen features an amazing seven-foot waterfall with a babbling brook that runs along the edge of the guest seating making your ceremony feel charmed.

The first of two spectacular indoor, climate-controlled options is the Manor Barn. Rustic chic in every sense of the world, couples can add the finishing touches of their vision to make this fantastic space their own. Wood beams rise up overhead, home to charming chandeliers and twinkle lights, while hardwood floors stretch out beneath creating the perfect dancefloor.

A huge bay of floor to ceiling windows flood the area with natural light, and the warmth of the wood sets a magical stage. A sit-down reception for up to 175 guests can be held; the Manor Barn is comprised of three spaces: the Gathering Room, the Barn Loft, and the Open Hearth Patio. The Manor Barn can be easily configured in multiple ways to accommodate ceremonies, cocktail hours, and full receptions.

A slightly more elegant feel, The Brandywine Tent and its tapestry of cascading white fabric, home to a gorgeous chandelier, Japanese lanterns, and starlight, it’s the perfect marriage of style and grace. The Brandywine Tent also boasts colorful, theatrical lighting, which creates a color splash up top in the color of your choice. Each side is a bay of windows that can be rolled aside to create an open, airy space for guests to enjoy on a warm afternoon. I love the lights set against the rolling lawn creating a fun, Great Gatsby vibe and the perfect space to dance the night away.

Whatever your wedding day vision, the Brandywine Manor House executes your day with perfected ease and provides guests with a private oasis of calm mixed with romance.
